Urn is managed and booked by several entities working together including Tim Anders @ Pitch Black Productions, Yvonned Loveland @ Voodoo Queen Management and Troy Hilton @ Darker Side of Light Productions. The Chicago-based dark metal band URN® is one on a musical journey exploring the darker aspects of both the conscious mind and the unconscious soul. The band has been captivating audiences across multiple genres and have been establishing themselves as one the more energetic live acts to see. The band has drawn comparisons by national trade media to such artists such as Type O Negative, Lacuna Coil, Amorphis, Nightwish, My Dying Bride and other similar acts that tend to find a certain beauty in darkness. The band originated in 1994 as part of the Cleveland college music scene and relocated to Chicago in 1998 as founder Dominic St. Charles also performed with the Electric Hellfire Club. Urn started touring nationally in 2001 in support of their first self-released EP “Consecrated Ashes”. The band then followed up and self-released their “Desecrated Ashes” EP in 2003 and received strong airplay support via college and internet radio stations across North America. The band then self-booked several national tours and eventually made their Canadian and Mexican debuts in this timeframe. In December of 2005, URN signed with Rotting Corpse Records and in July of 2006, released their first full-length LP “Dancing with the Demigods” with major chain-store distribution through Century Media, Synergy Distribution and Azure Green. The album received rave reviews in trade magazines such as Pit Magazine, Brave Words and Bloody Knuckles, Explicitly Intense, New Witch, Dark Realms, and many more. As a result, URN toured even more extensively throughout North America, highlighted by being the direct support acts for To/Die/For, Virgin Black for full production tours. The band also did support for regional legs of tours with Moonspell, Katatonia, Daylight Dies, and Finntroll, and many notable others. The band also headlined many high-profile conventions/festivals throughout such as Ancient Ways in Chicago, KiNvention North in Toronto, Endless Nights in New Orleans, Radio Active in Detroit, GenCon in Indianapolis, The International Body Art Expo in Columbus, Paganstock in Michigan, Doomsday Metal Fest in Milwaukee and The Long Black Veil in New York. URN released their second full-length album, “Scribings of a Forgotten Soul” in July 2009, again on Rotting Corpse Records, and the band would continue its relentless approach to international touring and promoting by being direct support acts for artists such Tarja Turunen for full tours as well as being selected for regional tours with artists such as Epica, Leaves Eyes, Ensiferum, Tyr, and The Genitorturers. URN, a band who is always pushing their boundaries and thresholds, looks to continue to do so over the coming years by their life commitment to constantly evolve, adapt, and grow on their musical journey. |

Today's metal market may be saturated with melodic black/extreme metal from all corners of the world, but Chicago's Withering Soul promises to deliver on all fronts. If you want sinister screams as well as bone-chilling cleans, you'll get them. If you want interesting time changes and climactic phrasings, you will find them here too. Add some creepy atmosphere and dueling guitars for good measure and you have No Closure, the band's debut full length offering. Withering Soul was founded by brothers Mykil (Vocals) and Krystofer (Guitars / Synths), and what originally started as a side project, eventually developed into a full band. The group first recruited Matt "Xaphar" Block (ex-Nachtmystium) on drums to complete their EP release, Apparitions of the Surreal (2004). The band later added some new musicians; Marek who replaced Matt on drums, and also William on bass to complete an endless assault of live shows, sharing the stage with the legendary acts such as Enslaved, Dark Funeral, Finntroll, Satyricon, Absu and Hanzel und Gretyl to name a few. In recent news, the band was featured on ReUnation - A Tribute to Running Wild with their cover of "Firebreather." The album was released worldwide by Germany's Remedy Records and received positive reviews including a "Best Song on Album" by WeRock (SWE). In keeping with their diligent work ethic, the Withering Soul is also currently writing new material for their follow up album, which will be yet another step towards their ultimate goal to leave a lasting impression on the metal world with its own brand of music. Forming early 2007, this Northern quintet is here to take the world by storm, leaving no prisoners in its mighty wake. Hailing from Leeds, Severed Heaven combines brutality, technicality and pure, raw talent to create their very own brand of death metal. Severed Heaven’s first claim to fame came when the band took BBC3’s Singing with the Enemy by storm, going head to head with punk rockers Lethal Fixx to create a genre bending single. After the success of the show, Severed Heaven played a series of gigs across the UK and recorded their first EP. 2008 and 2009 lead to a series of high profile shows, including support slots with Gallhammer, Nemhain, Dames of Darkness Festival and a many more shows to rave reviews! As the band continued to play, the girls reached new heights, playing two dates with Hecate Enthroned, a prestigious slot supporting black metal legends Gorgoroth, headlining shows at Camden’s Purple Turtle followed by dates with Sworn Enemy, Hecate Enthroned and Infernal Damnation VI alongside Hate and Shining. Perhaps the most high profile show of Severed Heaven’s career to date and their biggest accomplishment came when they were chosen to headline Bloodstock festivals unsigned stage, an outstanding performance to a packed out crowd led to an overwhelming demand for Severed Heaven. | Empyreus exists solely to create extreme music in the terms that they see it. Without compromise. .. The band’s roots go back to 2003 when Nicholas (guitars) and S.M. V0ID (bass) started writing music together. Facing an uphill battle to put together a steady lineup, they kept writing and recording until things finally coalesced in 2008. With a full time drummer, Mictian, vocalist, Yog-Sothoth, and additional guitarist, Tristan McCann (Oceano, Abigail Williams), a handful of shows were played with this lineup during 2008 (at this time under a different band name). .. At the end of 2008, things kind of disintegrated, resulting in Nicholas and S.M. V0ID being the only members once again. They decided to re-record the bands existing material and work on some new pieces. With the aide of sequenced drums, Niphil’im (Corruptor) was brought in to do vocals on what would turn out to be a new demo. .. Late 2009 had marked a new beginning for the band with the addition of G. Reymond (ex-Veneficum, Enforsaken, Kommandant, Nachtmystium) on drums. With the completed lineup and new band name intact, writting and rehearsing will ensue for the remainder of the year and into 2010. .. The band will continue to perfect their craft and in the coming months, expect to see Empyreus rising and destroying venues near and beyond. |
